Damage

Sorry, we had a problem. It caused this website te be off line for a few days. Damage was caused by doing an update of the Drupal CMS, then at that same moment the server of our website crashed. The result was damage to the database that contains all the info of this website.
Chintu did all the hard dirty work to restore the mess to a working site again. There still is some damage, by and by it will be touched up.

There is another mess to clean up. Bram, Philipp and I are now two weeks back from our last visit to Guatemala. That trip an extra ondinary exhausting. It also left us with a lot of research work that has to be completed over here in our lab in Maastricht.
So what about the Hy2U? Good question. Right now we want to get a good overview of how things are with our Messengers in Hawassa. For them there is a lot of work coming. Two approaches are developing. One is more of what we do now: the Hy2U, make it, train people, but more directed at use at home. This approach centers on production and selling and making other people do so.
The other approach schould become a big thing soon. About school hygiene there is consensus that there is an immediate need for a hand washing facility at every latrine of the thousands of primary schools all over Ethiopia. Nobody knows how to achieve that.
But we do! We have the HyBox ready and we have our Messengers. And we have a good plan for action.
Next step is to go to Ethiopia again, join hands and show it is possible. Planning for this is April.
